Verify your Shopify tracking

Confirm the Shopify app connection, storefront app embed, and first Apex telemetry signal during onboarding.

Apex separates platform connection from live telemetry. A connected Shopify app means Apex has the Shopify install record and pixel state. Receiving data means Apex has seen recent storefront telemetry for the shop. Onboarding uses the go-live verification check to read recent installation signals and show when Apex is receiving data.

Confirm the app embed

  1. Open the Shopify theme editor for the published theme.
  2. Confirm the Apex app embed is enabled.
  3. Save the theme after changing the embed state.

Send a test visit

  1. Open the live storefront in a normal browser tab.
  2. Visit a product or collection page.
  3. Return to Apex onboarding and run the install verification again.

Understand the states

  • Connected means Apex found the platform app connection before traffic verification.
  • Receiving data means Apex received a fresh storefront pageview and visitor signal during the verification window.
  • Partial means Apex has some telemetry, but one or more checks still need a signal.

Troubleshooting

  • Embed not enabled: enable the Apex app embed in the live theme and save.
  • Wrong theme published: repeat the embed step on the current published theme.
  • Consent blockers: if a consent manager blocks scripts or storage before consent, grant test consent and send another visit.
  • Telemetry delay: wait briefly, then run verification again.
